Peru to boost rural coverage with regional antenna leases

Peru s transport and communications ministry (MTC) announced plans to boost mobile coverage in rural parts of the country by permitting the lease of antennas owned by the state-run Community Support Project and Community Communication Support Project Conglomerate. A total of 3,002 antennas currently used for TV and radio transmission are available in all 24 regions of Peru. They benefit around 2 million people in rural and border areas and will be available for rental by public service licensees or rural mobile infrastructure operators for up to 20 years.
