IDAHO — The Idaho Immigrant Resource Alliance (IIRA) has started distributing bottled waters and other items to farmworkers in Canyon County to provide heat relief as the heatwave continues.
IIRA has been collecting donations and raising funds to benefit the area’s farmworkers.
“Just seeing the farmworkers really happy and excited that we are providing these supplies to them is really amazing,” said Irene Ruiz organizer and one of the co-founders of IIRA. “To be able to work in the community and support the community is one of the most important things we can do for each other.” ....

IDAHO — Extreme heat throughout the region is raising concerns among local farmworker advocates, including the Idaho Immigrant Resource Alliance (IIRA).
IIRA is now collecting donations and raising funds for heat and smoke relief efforts to directly benefit the area s farmworkers.
“We want to make sure they are staying cool, hydrated, and possibly have shade,” said Samantha Guerrero, a bilingual community organizer with the Idaho Organization of Resource Councils (IORC). “We are currently fundraising to purchase water bottles to get out to them, to purchase coolers and anything else they may need such as protective equipment. They will also have to face the wildfires and breathe in that air, and we are hoping to get N95 masks as ....

MURPHY, Idaho Home to 97 people, the unincorporated village of Murphy, Idaho is the county seat for Owyhee County and one of the smallest county seats in the nation. With no health clinic or doctor s office in town, the closest one is a 45-minute roundtrip drive away.
In order to reach some of Idaho s rural residents, Terry Reilly Health Services sent its mobile vaccination team out to the Owyhee County Museum and Library to set up shop and offer vaccines to those who wanted it. ....
