SPRING VALLEY, Calif. (KGTV) A tree trimmer was rescued by firefighters after becoming stuck in a 70-foot palm tree in a Spring Valley neighborhood Thursday.
Just before 7 p.m., residents in the 8600 block of Samantha Lane told ABC 10News they heard a tree trimmer yelling for help from the top of a palm tree after his leg had become stuck in the skirt of the tree. ....

Firefighters rescue tree trimmer stuck near top of Spring Valley palm tree

SPRING VALLEY
Firefighters rescued an injured tree trimmer Thursday evening after the man became stuck about 60 to 70 feet in the air when dead palm fronds collapsed on his rigging and leg, authorities said.
The man became stuck about 6:45 p.m. while trimming a Mexican fan palm at a home on Samantha Lane off Sweetwater Road, according to Battalion Chief Justin Fuller from San Miguel Fire & Rescue.

Fuller called it a “really difficult” and “pretty technical” rescue that required firefighters on two ladders to work together. One group of firefighters were in a bucket at the top of one ladder securing the tree trimmer, while another firefighter was at the top of the other ladder freeing the compressed rope that was holding the tree trimmer down. ....

Among the first live theatre to open for children since venues closed last year, the adaptation by musician Barb Jungr and Little Angel artistic director Samantha Lane is among the highlights of the puppet theatre s 60th anniversary season.

The beauty of love is that it can happen with the most unexpected person in the most unlikely of places. In the case of a one-year-old stray puppy in Duplin County, North Carolina, that person happened to be a bright purple stuffed unicorn at a local Dollar General store. The good news is that this unusual love story has a happy ending!
It is unclear how the adorable Labrador mix, now called Sisu, first caught sight of the love of his life. However, once he did, there was no stopping the pooch from trying to snag it from the shelf in the store. On his first attempt, he burst through the doors and made a beeline for the toy aisle, only to be caught by the staff. Not deterred, Sisu made four more attempts, only to be gently shooed away by the vigilant employees each time. ....

Sisu famously went viral a few weeks back when he was caught multiple times darting into a Dollar General store in North Carolina with just one mission. He was trying to take a pink and purple plush unicorn toy. Joe Newburn of
Duplin County Animal Services told People Magazine, He went straight for the unicorn, the same one every time.
