Fairfield council to raise idea of pay hike for themselves FAIRFIELD The City Council will discuss the possibility Tuesday of a pay raise for themselves – the first in 32 years. “City Council member salaries have not increased since 1988 when the current $500 per month salary was adopted,” a staff report to the council states. “In addition, the mayor’s salary has not increased since 1988 with the current $600 per month.” The council is given three options to consider. • Increase salary from $500 per month to $600 per month based on population. This increase would equate to $1,300 per month.
