DSWD takes up cudgels for Nuezca's daughter

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) echoed on Thursday the appeal of the Council for the Welfare of Children for the public to stop the condemnation and cyber-bullying of the 13-year-old daughter of Police Senior Master Sergeant Jonel Nuezca.

The Council is an attached agency of the DSWD, which is the lead agency in social protection.
The Department said in a statement that it would put premium on the best interest of the child, including her protection from any form of abuse.
“The child will undergo psychosocial processing support or psychosocial first aid to help her recover from the trauma,” the DSWD said. ....

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 22) Social workers from the Department of Social Welfare and Development will check on the pre-teen who witnessed her father shoot two of their neighbors point blank.
DSWD Central Luzon spokesperson Reiner Grospe on Tuesday said they have located the 12-year-old daughter of policeman Jonel Nuezca. The unnamed child, who can be seen in the now-viral shooting video, will be scheduled for a psychosocial intervention.
In the video taken on Sunday, Nuezca can be seen with his daughter in a heated discussion with an unarmed Frank Anthony Gregorio, whose mother Sonya was holding him back. Nuezca s daughter pointed out that my father is a policeman, to which Sonya replied that she does not care.
