Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Tuesday accepted the resignations of BJP leaders BS Yeddyurappa and B Sriramulu as the members of Parliament.
Yeddyurappa and Sriramulu resigned from the Shivamogga and Bellary parliamentary constituencies following their election to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly on Friday, according to Lok Sabha Secretariat sources.
Both the BJP leaders had submitted their resignations a day before the floor test, ordered by the Supreme Court to check the majority of the day-old Yeddyurappa government in the Karnataka hung assembly.
Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan informed the House that extension of time has been granted to the joint panel on the FRDI Bill up to the last day of Budget Session, 2018 .

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated a new building within the Parliament House complex which will house rooms and offices of various parliamentary committees.
The new extension building to the Parliament House annexe is said to be energy efficient and will use solar technology to save conventional power.
The new structure has two blocs. While one houses committee rooms and an auditorium, the high rise block houses offices of chairpersons of various committees.
