Our Lady of Mount Carmel Honored With Gusto After Last Year’s Scaled-Down Feast July 16, 2021

WILLIAMSBURG Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio noted that this date, July 16, is usually the hottest of days in Brooklyn. However, faithful Catholics never let high temperatures and humidity keep them from honoring Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Magruder Hospital’s VIP Club On-the-Go will have a day trip to Cleveland on Wednesday, Aug. 4. The group will see many historic sites as well as Cleveland’s very own inner-city vineyard – Chateau HOUGH, Coventry-on-the-Heights and an inland lake.
A delightful lunch at an authentic Hungarian Restaurant is included. Cost is $94 per person.
The group will tour a spectacular Shrine Church that is in the heart of Slavic Village, and see a special 9-hole golf course built on reclaimed Steel Mill land overlooking Cleveland’s Steel Valley. The trip includes sightseeing Cleveland’s trendy Tremont neighborhood, as well as a stop at the world famous Westside Market.

Pilot Ben Watsky got the idea for sturdy, critter-proof free food pantries as a disaster response when he was volunteering in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria. He founded Open World Relief, a charity that installed 8 of these pantries in Capital Region neighborhoods. Northeastern Woodworkers volunteers built them.
