OKARA: A woman was raped at village Dilbagh Rai on Thursday. The wife of Saadi Ahmad was waiting for a vehicle at Satghara Morr, when accused Naveed and his accomplices came in a car gave her lift and near village 33/2R drain Naveed raped her. Satghara police have registered a case.
WOMAN ABDUCTED: A woman was abducted in village 36-A/4L on Thursday. Accused Sanaullah Baloch and his accomplices barged into the house of the parents of Anam Bibi and snatched Rs107,000, and gold jewellery from the family members and kidnapped Anam. Shahbore police have registered a case. Meanwhile, a 12-year-old girl was abducted on Thursday. The daughter of Zakir Hussain, of Chak 16/GD was bringing some articles from the bazaar when accused Mehr Ali and his accomplices kidnapped her. Satghara police have registered a case. Ruling elites of the world, especially those of the Global South, are in awe of large and mega infrastructure projects, pumping billions or in some cases even trillions of dollars into these capital intensive initiatives.
Such projects are considered the hallmark of modern civilization with economic pundits declaring them to be the solution to all the economic ills that have plagued the global economy. For them such projects could herald an era of progress and prosperity for both the developed and the developing world.
Such claims have greatly fascinated rulers across the world, prompting them to focus their attention on these expensive schemes. For instance, India spent a whopping $8 billion on the Sardar Sarovar Dam alone. Currently two more giant projects worth over $110 billion are also being undertaken by New Delhi. In addition to that, the second most populous state on the earth also planned in recent years ....

PAC orders collection of property tax in three months - Newspaper

QUETTA: Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of the Balochistan Assembly Mir Akhtar Hussain Langove has ordered the excise department to collect property tax from various institutions within three months.
Speaking during a meeting of PAC on Excise and Taxation Department’s Audit Paras for 2018-19 and Compliance Report for 2017-18, he said the department was the largest revenue collecting agency in Balochistan.
He asked the authorities to bring record of locked or demolished property in the next meeting to set revenue / income targets.
Mr Langove said that property tax had not been collected from the cantonment board so far. He ordered the authorities to concerned to issue a three-month notice to the cantonment board to deposit the property tax within the stipulated time. ....
