VINTAGE: The Farina motor car on display at the museum
NOT all cars have fan clubs – but one of the newest additions to the Lakeland Motor Museum does.
The Austin A40 Farina has the A40 Farina Club – which describes itself as “Home to Lovers of the Austin A40 Farina.”
This little car inspires affection – the club has members across the UK and even internationally.
First rolling off the production line in 1961, the museum’s 1962 example of the Mark II model has been donated by an owner from Lindale in Cumbria.
In order to distinguish it from other A40 models, the ‘Farina’ name was added so as not to confuse it with previous versions – some of which were named after different English counties. ....
