Sensex ends above 51k, Nifty above 15,000 for the first time
Continuing the bull run for the sixth day in a row, Sensex ended above the 51,000 mark and Nifty topped the 15,000 level for the first time ever. Firm global markets helped Sensex clock 617 points to end at 51,348.77, while Nifty soared 1.3% to 15,115.80.
Auto, metal and IT stocks were the best gainers in today s rally, while FMCG companies and PSU banks underperformed.

Sensex, Nifty end 1.5% lower
Benchmark indices ended the week with deep cuts following broad-based sell-off. Sensex ended near the day s low at 48,878.54, down 746 points dragged by Reliance, ICICI and HDFC twins. Bajaj Auto remained the best performer through the day. Nifty ended 1.5% lower 14,371
Nifty Bank and Metal fell 3% each.
Market breadth was negative with midcap and smallcaps ending weak.

Indian Bank Q3 net profit more than doubles
State-owned Indian Bank s profit more than doubled to ₹514.28 crore for the third quarter ended December. The bank s profit in the year-ago period stood at ₹247.16 crore.

Sensex gives up 50k mark at close
The benchmark Sensex hit the 50,000 milestone for the first time ever on Thursday but failed to hold on to the gains and closed 559 points lower from the day s highs on profit booking. The index closed 167 points lower at 49,625.
Nifty closed at 14,590.35, down 54 points. All sectoral indices closed in the red with banks and financials biggest laggards. Market breadth was negative with midcaps and small caps ending deep in the red.
Bajaj Finance, its twin Finserv and Bajaj Auto were the top gainers for most part of trade.
Benchmark indices opened higher tracking Asian markets with the Sensex bouncing back to reclaim the 49,000 mark after two days of losses. Nifty crossed the 14,400 mark. Most sectors were in the green with realty and auto best gainers
