Fair trade gift shop leaves Jackson Crossing in favor of downtown location Updated Jan 14, 2021; Facebook Share JACKSON, MI – At this new marketplace in downtown Jackson, customers can buy Bulgarian knit hats, ethically sourced chocolates and Christmas ornaments made in Kenya. The intention of Marketplace Manna, isn’t just to sell unique gifts it’s also to help families abroad. The nonprofit store first opened in November 2018 in Jackson Crossing. It’s now moving downtown, President Al Mellinger said, to pick up on new clientele and cut overhead costs. “We think the downtown areas get a better locale and visibility and the kind of people that are interested in fair trade,” Mellinger said. ....
