NOIDA: Even as chief minister Yogi Adityanath announced the population policy 2021-2030 on the occasion of the World Population Day, the Nav Urja Yuva Sanstha (NUS - a local youth body) carried out an awareness drive in the city on Sunday on the ill-effects of the increasing population. During the drive, members from the group apprised residents especially, the economically weaker sections living in the city, of the rising illiteracy, unemployment, hunger and poverty as the results of uncontrolled population. “On the occasion of World Population Day, we appealed to the people to come forward in spreading awareness toward population control in the country. The campaign was held in different areas of the city such as Sector 34, 50, where we apprised citizens of the ill-effects of increasing population through slogans and shloka,” said Pushkar Sharma, president NUS who adds that the root cause of people not getting beds, oxygen and other requisite treatment during Covid pand ....
