As countries rush to dominate the new age space race, the Moon has emerged as a hot piece of real estate that could act as a base for deeper exploration of the universe as humans vie to become an interplanetary species. But it could also be the site of some rare Earth minerals and resources.
Researchers have identified the lunar south pole as a prime location that could harbour these materials and resources while hiding some of the biggest secrets of Earth s natural satellite including answers to how it was formed in the first place and how other worlds in the solar system evolved. ....

Los Alamos ScienceFest Kickoffs At Fuller Lodge With Hill Stompers This Evening
Los Alamos ScienceFest 2021: Driven By Science kicks off this evening at Fuller Lodge.
The Hill Stompers will start things off as part of the Tuesdays at the Pond series (today held at Fuller Lodge), then hear a science Q&A led by local high school sophomore Hana Raby, as she talks with three local scientists, Roger Wiens and Juston Moore of Los Alamos National Laboratory, and Hunter McDaniel of UbiQD.
The Hill Stompers will then resume music around 7 p.m. Food from Señor Tortas and beer from Bathtub Row Brewing Co-op also will be available for purchase. ....
