Barrett Junction Cafe closes after decades of backcountry love


BARRETT JUNCTION   
Since it opened in 1946, the Barrett Junction Cafe has provided a welcome respite for weary drivers along rural Highway 94 seeking a bite to eat, a drink and a restroom.
Over the years, it became a popular gathering spot for community groups and a busy hub for motorcycle groups, classic car clubs, politicians, newlyweds and skateboarding daredevils who drove for hours for the opportunity to ride the downhill hotspots.
But the food, fun and live music have ceased at the roadside stop located eight miles from the U.S.-Mexico border.
The Barrett Junction Cafe has closed after 75 years and is having a liquidation sale. ....
