The film was loosely based on the Hollywood classic Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and the character of Babu, played by Bachchan in the Hindi remake was solely written for the entertainment quotient by filmmaker Raj N Sippy. As there is buzz of a remake of the film, Raj N Sippy spoke of who he thinks would be the best choice to play Big B’s characters.
