Racing legend Faugheen will enjoy his retirement in the company of heroes at the Irish National Stud.
Susannah and Rich Ricci’s National Hunt star, trained by Willie Mullins, won more than £1.1m in prize money in eight seasons on the track.
“We are delighted to be welcoming the legendary Faugheen the machine to join our Living Legends for a well-earned retirement,” said a spokesman for the Irish National Stud.

There are six meetings across the UK and Ireland on Monday to kick-start a busy week of racing, with the action split evenly between Flat and National Hunt cards.
In the afternoon thereâs Flat racing at Catterick (1.08-5.00pm) and Lingfield (all-weather, 1.15-5.15), plus jumps fare from Ffos Las (1.00-4.50). A traditional Monday night card at Windsor (4.25-8.00) completes the action on the level before they race at Killarney (4.35-8.10) and Southwell (5.20-8.20).

OWNER RICH RICCI has announced the retirement of three of of his equine superstars in Faugheen, Douvan and Benie Des Dieux.
Faugheen in particular will go down as one of the most popular National Hunt horses of the modern era, with the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham, the Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown and back-to-back victories in the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton featuring on a glittering CV.
It looked as though his racing career could be over in the spring of 2019 after he was found to be suffering from a heart problem when pulling up in the Aintree Hurdle.
