He s made 11 trips to Fremont just this spring.
But Perry has only caught three walleye so far.
As he stood near the Miles Newton Bridge on Wednesday, one of only a handful of fishermen in the water or along the banks of the Sandusky River in downtown Fremont, Perry didn t sound too discouraged.
Besides, as he pointed out, it s still fun, it s still fishing. I m assuming the bite will come back on, Perry said, as he held his lone walleye catch on a stringer with his left hand.

GIBSONBURG - The state s popular annual rainbow trout release is returning to White Star Park Quarry in April, according to Andrew Brown, Sandusky County Park District director.
In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic and safety concerns about social distancing forced the state to postpone the scheduled rainbow trout fish release, an annual event usually held on or around Good Friday every year, Brown said Wednesday.
Brown said the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife will be releasing thousands of rainbow trout into White Star Park Quarry the week of April 2.
He said the park district never knows the exact day ODNR will release the fish.
