Next Late Sk80s Will Be July 30 Tuesday, July 20, 2021 City of Chattanooga and Moonlight Roller announce Late Sk80s, the second edition of a new roller skating event series on the final Fridays of June, July and August in downtown Chattanooga. Late Skates take place at the Chattanooga Skatepark Roller Rink and include a live DJ, food trucks, drinks from Bitter Alibi, and a vintage pop-up market. Attendees can bring their own wheels or rent a pair from Moonlight x Mobile (US sizes 1-14 available). While the event series is all-ages and entry is free, rental skates are $7 and skate renters must be 18+ and present a valid ID. ....
Chattanooga River Market And Collegedale Market To Open Mid-March For 2021 Season Thursday, February 4, 2021 The organizers of Chattanooga area farmers and artists markets have set the 2021 dates for reopening to the public. After a safe execution of the their markets during the pandemic in 2020, the organization feels confident and also responsible for maintaining the connection between between farms/artisans and the community. The second weekend in March, two markets will open. Chattanooga River Market will be held both Fridays and Saturdays this spring from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., beginning March 12 and 13. This (primarily) artists market is held on the Tennessee Aquarium Plaza in its 10th season. Each Saturday opens with a free yoga class taught by Chattanooga Community Yoga. Silverdale Baptist Church Raises Funds To Support Local Nonprofits Tuesday, February 2, 2021 Across the United States, the twin crisis of the pandemic and economic downturn are depleting donations and could force as many as a third of nonprofits to close for good. But here in Chattanooga, one mission-minded church is filling a gap for four local nonprofits: The Bethlehem Center, The Chattanooga Community Kitchen, The Chattanooga Rescue Mission, and Hope for the Inner City. This past Christmas Eve, Silverdale Baptist Church asked its congregation to give a special gift to benefit local mission partners who minister to the neediest in our community: the hungry and homeless. Silverdale raised over $32,000 over Christmas to help these local mission partners. ....
