My last gig as a headliner was March 1, 2020, at Dizzy’s with the Irving Flores Afro-Cuban Quartet, which features Fernando Gomez on drums, Dean Hulett on bass and Amilkar Peña on congas. It was a beautiful concert, full of jazz, Latin flavor, great improvisations and the nice feedback of the audience. There were no face masks. People were still shaking hands, and friends gave us hugs. ....

The first week of January 2020, we sold out six shows in a rainy week in Paris, despite a citywide transportation strike, at the “Cathédrale de Jazz,” the Le Duc des Lombards club. It was a special week, billed as “The Great Ladies of Jazz,” which I organized. It featured nine-time Grammy Award winner Janis Siegel of Manhattan Transfer, bebop legend Michele Hendricks and Leslie Lewis to showcase the strength and talent of women in our field.
