May 9, 2021 Elizabeth J. Lynch, 95, family matriarch and native of Lewes passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021, in the home her family has lived in since her birth. She was born on New Year’s Day, 1926, at Beebe Hospital, daughter of the late Meta (Green) and Preston Joseph. When she was 3, her parents built one of the first cottages on Lewes Beach where she enjoyed an idyllic childhood. As a young adult, Lib spent summers helping children with special needs at the Children’s Beach House. Her family would move to the beach for the summer and return to their home, in town, after Labor Day. ....
Judith Ann âJudyâ Partyka, 82, loving wife and mother, passed away and entered into eternal life on Sunday, March 21, 2021. She was born on Feb. 25, 1939, in Upland, Pa., to Clayton and Mary Eleanor Poole. Partyka worked for NCR in Millsboro, Del., and for Sussex Trust and Delaware National Bank, from which she retired as assistant bank manager. She had graduated from Ridley Township High School in 1956 and maintained close contact with many of her classmates, a.k.a. the âdirty dozen.â Partyka had a passion for the Lord and his works. She loved participating in church activities and Bible study at Wesley United Church with Pastor Tim, Nora Serman and others. She also loved birdwatching, nature and creating crafts with inspiration from Godâs beautiful landscapes. She was very much cherished by friends and family, and admired by those she encountered. MORE than 1,000 coronavirus cases have been reported in Sussex in 24 hours. Cases in West Sussex increased by 795. In East Sussex, they increased by 345 and Brighton and Hove’s total rose by 221. Their totals are now 16,491, 13,819 and 6,541 respectively. Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 50,023 over the period to 2,432,888 – of which 8,140 were in the South East. There were 981 deaths reported within 28 day of a positive test, making a total of 3,497 in the last seven days.
