Hudson Valley officials and emergency responders are urging the public to wear lifejackets after at least four people drowned in the Delaware River in as many days, according to a statement released Wednesday by the Sullivan County spokesperson.
The latest drowning has deeply shaken Highland Supervisor Jeff Haas, one of the Yulan firefighters who performed resuscitation on a 28-year-old drowning victim Tuesday evening at a campground near Barryville, according to Dan Hust, director of communications for Sullivan County.
