By February 4, 2021 Floyd Charles Olsen, known best as “Chuck” to those in the produce industry, died Dec. 30 in Visalia, CA, after a battle with health problems related to back pain. He was 77. Mr. Olsen founded his namesake Chuck Olsen Co. in 1987 and spent the majority of his life in the agriculture trade. Floyd Charles Olsen “He was all about integrity,” said his son, Jeff, who serves as president of The Chuck Olsen Co. today. “He always wanted to do the best for his customers, most who became his longtime friends through the years.” The ag industry was in Mr. Olsen’s blood. His grandfather came over from Denmark in 1910 and started Cecelia Orchards, which Chuck would eventually take over. ....
Dec 16, 2020 HOWARD, Wis. Michael P. Henderson, 65, of Howard, Wis., passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 27, 2020. He was born on July 5, 1955 in Escanaba, Mich., to James and JoAnn (Baker) Henderson. He graduated from Escanaba Area High School in 1974. Michael was a graduate of Northern Michigan University. He worked as a manager of Olsen’s Piggly Wiggly for 30 years until his retirement in 2016. Michael loved the outdoors. He traveled the Upper Peninsula, finding isolated spots to explore, fish, and just be. A family cottage on Lake Superior was also a favorite destination. Michael is survived by his mother, JoAnn Henderson; sister, Mary Anne Olsen; brother-in-law, Chuck Olsen; brother, Jim Henderson; sister-in-law, Marilyn Henderson; and his dearly loved daughter, Erin (Henderson) Hiddema; his two grandchildren, Charley Mae, Jesse; son-in-law Eric Hiddema; and his best friend Dave Brassard and wife Kathy. ....
