Each banner will be in honour of a specific service person with a connection to Norquay and district. It will include their name, era served, branch of service, photograph, and the name of the person(s), group, or business honouring them. The large five feet by 30-inch vinyl banners in full colour will be displayed on our Main Street light posts from late September to the end of November. The banner project started after a lot of research went into the types of brackets and frames used, as well as the types of materials used on the banners themselves. Tamera Hall from the Yorkton Legion Honour the Veterans committee gave us a lot of information to help us get this project started. Dale Mennie from the Kelvington Legion Veterans Banner group provided us with information. Most importantly, they let us borrow their pole bracket and metal frame. Letter to the Editor: Why one nurse voted ‘no’ on Maine Med union Share I have been a nurse at Maine Medical Center for 26 years. Today I received my union ballot from the National Labor Relations Board. For a number of reasons, I have voted no. Firstly, I would never leave my patients to participate in a strike. Pro union colleagues tell me nurses’ unions rarely strike. Yet nurses are currently on strike in Worcester, Massachusetts and have recently gone on strike in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Secondly, I believe I am well compensated with pay and benefits, including years of market and merit increases, additional pay for advancing on the clinical ladder, and incentives for working additional hours. Furthermore, I do not wish for us, as nurses, to separate ourselves from our healthcare team. ....
Physical Therapists Christine Feely and Colleen Robinson opened Synergy: Trumansburg Physical Therapy at 203 East Main Street in November of 2017. The practice is operated by a motivated team of physical therapists with the expertise and experience to improve the quality of life for their patients. They focus on orthopedic conditions, sports injuries, pelvic pain, and womenâs health and wellness.
