QUINCY Police discovered what they called a large-scale, illegal pill manufacturing operation run out of a single-stall rental garage at a storage facility in a residential section of Quincy s Wollaston neighborhood.
Quincy police said in a statement that in a self-contained trailer in the garage they found a large quantity of fentanyl, powder base precursors, and commercial-grade pharmaceutical pill presses and machinery used in manufacturing.
The trailer was discovered while the Quincy Police Drug Control Unit was investigating a possible drug trafficking organization based out of the facility.
Police said detectives secured the site and determined there was no public danger. A Quincy detective assigned to the Boston office of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration was notified and the federal agency sent a clandestine lab response team to Quincy. The trailer was taken to the Quincy police station to be investigated and taken apart.
