OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Public School Board has selected David Goetz as the next superintendent of the district.
Goetz is currently the interim superintendent at Williams County School District #8 in Williston, ND. The school board made their decision following two days of public interviews with the finalists.
He will succeed Dr. Kraig Steinhoff who submitted his resignation to the board in March.
Goetz will be formally approved as superintendent at the board’s next regular meeting later this month. Once approved, Goetz will begin his employment with the district on July 1, 2021.

We have heard the thoughts this week from the next Huron School District superintendent, Dr Kraig Steinhoff. He is currently superintendent at Oakes ND school district. Dr Steinhoff spoke of transitioning from the Oakes district to Huron with some of the similarities and differences in place. In terms of student enrollment he spoke of a study that he had been involved with concerning enrollment projections.
