Council convened to break ground on the site where the Creston Emergency Services Building (CESB) is expected to have more activity by May 3rd.
“I really appreciate that we were able to do this today,” said Mayor Ron Toyota. “It’s historic for us because it has taken several years. I think this is the beginning and hopefully, it won’t be too long before the ribbon-cutting ceremony.” ....

Council nears final step to amend Town budget including the Creston Emergency Services Building

Though there is an increase of 2.90 %, homeowners must also take into consideration what their 2021 assessment looks like.

Following the publicly advertised budget meeting on April 13th, Council moved forward with the first, second and third readings of the proposed 5 Year Finacial Plan Amendment.
The proposed changes do not increase taxes more so than originally planned, while also making way for the budget increase for the Creston Emergency Services Building.

Creston poised to fill defunct reservoirs to restore wetland habitat

Wetlands are set to reclaim Creston’s old water infrastructure.
The Crawford Hill Reservoir Restoration Project is entering its next phase.
Starting on March 22nd, crews will begin to fill the higher up Erickson reservoir through the removal of built-up berms. Over five days of filling up, it will create a 37 m diameter pond with a maximum centre depth of 2.4 m
“At the same time, they are going to work on the lower reservoir, our large reservoir on the west side of the property, in developing wetlands throughout that,” said Creston’s chief Administrative officer Mike Moore. “Some small ponds, and some flowing water through there.” ....
