This is one of, if not the, most popular regional parks in the Central Okanagan. A 20-year plan for future development of the park is going to the board of the Central Okanagan Regional District tomorrow, July 8. It recommends dozens of changes but one of the most dramatic is a new foot bridge over the Mission Creek at Gerstmar Road. Right now, the trail on the north side of Mission Creek has to divert onto Creekside Road for about a block.

Sheriff s department cheers as motor deputy injured in crash is released from hospital
Personnel from the Los Angeles County Sheriff s Department cheered as a deputy who was injured in an on-duty traffic collision last month in Santa Clarita was released from the hospital.
Motorcycle deputy Chad Perrigo suffered major injuries when he was struck head-on by a semi-truck on April 28. The driver of the semi failed to yield while making a left-hand turn near the intersection of McBean Parkway and Creekside Road, Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said.
In a
video posted to their social media pages, Deputy Chad Perrigo is seen being wheeled out of the hospital, seen smiling at the deputies who stood by to give him a procession of claps and support.
On April 28, fellow deputies responded shortly before 7:30 a.m. to Creekside Road after receiving word that Perrigo, a motorcycle deputy, had been involved in a traffic collision with an 18-wheeler. “(The) semi-truck, 18-wheeler, did a left-hand turn right in front and failed to yield for the oncoming traffic, the motorcycle. It was a head-on collision,” said Sheriff Alex Villanueva in a video posted on the Sheriff’s Department’s Facebook page the same day as the crash. “It’s going to be a long road to recovery and our thoughts and prayers to him and his family.”

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. A collision between a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department motorcycle and a big rig left a deputy seriously injured in Santa Clarita Wednesday morning.
The crash was reported about 7:23 a.m. near the intersection of Creekside Road and McBean Parkway, a tweet from the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station read.
The deputy was initially transported to a local hospital in unknown condition, according to the tweet.
