Houston police responded to reports of a crash on the Gulf Freeway at Griggs Road around 12:25 p.m. Police said two vehicles were speeding and weaving in and out of traffic when one vehicle crashed into a concrete barrier. Police said witnesses noticed a man inside of the vehicle had been shot and attempted to help him. ....

Starting at 9 p.m. Friday, there will be a closure on I-45 North all weekend. The northbound lanes from IH-10 to Quitman Street will be closed until Monday at 5 a.m. Drivers are advised to detour using I-10 eastbound to I-69 northbound to I-610 North Loop westbound to I-45. Another big closure involves the Gulf Freeway. The southbound lanes from Nasa Bypass and Nasa Road 1 to FM 518 in Webster will be closed Saturday starting at 9 a.m. The southbound entrance ramp before FM 518 will also be closed. ....
WADESBORO Deputies from the Anson County Sheriff’s Department arrested Joshua Adams from Chesterfield County, S.C. for possession of firearm by a felon, possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Deputies were dispatched to Griggs Road around 9:12 a.m. because of a suspicious vehicle with the driver asleep at the wheel. When the deputy approached the window and asked what the suspect was doing, he responded he was “listening to the birds.” The deputy asked the male to step out of the vehicle for a pat down. The driver said he had a gun in the front of his pants, which immediately fell to the ground when he stepped out. The suspect said there was a shotgun behind the seat. ....
HOUSTON A washateria in Houston is facing a suit after a man claims he slipped on a substance while entering the premises and suffered injuries. John Lockett filed a complaint March 3 in Harris County District Court against Griggs Washateria LLC alleging negligence. According to Lockett s complaint, he was at the Griggs Washateria on Griggs Road in Houston on Feb. 8, 2021. He alleges that while walking into the store, he slipped and fell on a slick substance that was on the floor and suffered severe and permanent injuries. Lockett claims Griggs Washateria neither corrected or warned of the unreasonably dangerous condition and failed to inspect and maintain its premises. He further claims Griggs Washateria knew or should have known of the hazard and act as a reasonably prudent premise owner. ....
