Wisconsin Assembly OKs bill letting bars, restaurants sell drinks to go


MADISON - The state Assembly passed a bill Wednesday that would allow bars and restaurants to sell wine and mixed drinks to go  an idea tavern owners have clamored for during the COVID-19 pandemic. 
Assembly Bill 32 would allow the establishments to sell wine, old fashioneds, gin and tonics and other drinks in sealed containers for curbside or in-store pickup.
Now, bars and restaurants can sell drinks to go only if they are in their original packaging. That means they can sell a bottle of wine to go, but not a glass of wine to go. 
The effort comes during a broader debate about allowing grocery stores and liquor stores to deliver alcohol to people s homes. So far, neither house of the Legislature has taken up legislation to do that.  ....

MILWAUKEE, WI Milwaukee activist Khalil Coleman was arrested on Feb. 15 in Kentucky on charges of second-degree robbery and second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, according to a report first posted by Wisconsin Right Now.
Patch reached out to Elsmere Police but haven t heard back as of Thursday afternoon.
Coleman was one of three people arrested.

In the Wisconsing Right Now report, Elsmere Police Chief Joe Maier said the group attempted to rob a drug house. One of the three people went up to the house with a gun and when it didn t work out they got into a car, the report said. However, as they were leaving they got boxed in by a snow plow and police stopped them. ....

Peoples Revolution leader allegedly pressured juvenile to rob drug house

Milwaukee, Wisc. Wisconsin Right Now reports that Khalil Coleman the well-known leader of The Peoples Revolution in Milwaukee who was arrested in Kentucky, is also accused of pressuring a juvenile to rob what they believed was a drug house. Coleman allegedly handed the juvenile a gun telling him to “go get that money,” according to court documents obtained exclusively by Wisconsin Right Now.

In addition to his role as key organizer of Milwaukee’s most controversial Black Lives Matter protests/riots and involvement in the Milwaukee police chief’s demotion, Coleman, who has Gangster Disciples gang ties (he calls it Growth & Development), wrote on LinkedIn that he’s received multiple contracts from Milwaukee Public Schools and other educational and community entities to train students to reject violence. ....
