In December 2020, an African American mother desperate for her son, a high school senior, to graduate and go off to college was forced into court to defend him. The young man, so close to achieving his mom’s dream, suddenly found his life turned upside down and his future threatened.
William Clark, a senior at Democracy Prep in Las Vegas, Nevada, has a Black mother and a deceased white father. He is, according to his court filing, generally regarded as a white person by his classmates because of his lighter skin, blonde hair and green eyes.
Last fall, Clark’s school began using “critical race theory” curriculum in its mandatory Sociology of Change class. The teacher and lawsuit defendant, Kathryn Bass, “required Clark and his fellow students to reveal and make professions about their gender, sex, religious and racial identities, and subjected those professions to public interrogation, scrutiny and derogatory labeling …” ....

Family sues school that won't let student out of class promoting anti-white racism

Curriculum swung hard left when New Yorkers acquired the school
A Nevada mother has followed through on her threat to file a civil rights lawsuit against her son’s charter school for refusing to let him opt out of a mandatory class that promotes hostility toward whites as a race.
Democracy Prep at the Agassi Campus forced William Clark “to make professions about his racial, sexual, gender and religious identities in verbal class exercises and in graded, written homework assignments,” creating a hostile environment, the biracial high school student and Gabrielle Clark allege in their federal lawsuit filed Tuesday.
The senior’s statements were “subject to the scrutiny, interrogation and derogatory labeling of students, teachers and school administrators,” who are “still are coercing him to accept and affirm politicized and discriminatory principles and statements that he cannot in conscience affirm.” ....
