WASHINGTON - They replay the day in their minds, hear threats when they pick up the phone, and try to keep doing their jobs. Congressional staffers are still struggling in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, whether they hid from the violent mob in their workplace or watched in terror from home.

He’s also attempting to keep House Republicans from attacking each other publicly after a contentious impeachment vote and mend relationships with donors after businesses hit pause on their corporate PACs over the GOP’s anti-certification vote. ....

Pandemonium At The Capital | Ringside Report

By Janet Grace
I stayed up Tuesday to watch history in the making. Social Media was abuzz all night, besides we night owls, day time tweeps were up as well. We enjoyed corresponding with each other while watching as Ossoff and Warnock made history in Georgia, defeating the disgraced GOP incumbents, Perdue and Loeffler. Well, we won. I had my story.
As the noon hour came upon us; still happily celebrating for having won the House, Senate and Presidency, talk turned to the next event which was to be the historic Certification of President-Elect Joe Biden at the state Capitol. ....

CQ-Roll Call/TNS
WASHINGTON - Supporters of President Donald Trump who want Congress to overturn his Electoral College loss clashed with Capitol Police, breached barriers and stormed into the Capitol on Wednesday, while lawmakers were in the midst of certifying the election results, causing a lockdown of the Capitol campus.
The two chambers, in the midst of debating objections to Arizona’s electoral votes, were evacuated. Vice President Mike Pence, Senate President Pro Tempore Charles E. Grassley and Speaker Nancy Pelosi, all in the presidential line of succession, have been taken to secure locations by Capitol Police and the Secret Service. ....
