PkMAP demands probe into Kakar’s death

MARDAN: The Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Mardan chapter on Monday staged a protest against the alleged delaying tactics to investigate the death of Senator Usman Kakar.
The party workers had gathered outside the Mardan Press Club. Chanting slogans in favour of their demands, they demanded the formation of a committee comprising high court judges to probe the death of the late senator. PkMAP district president Gohar Ali, Akbar Hoti Advocate, Ashraf Khan Advocate, Pervez Lala and other party leaders addressed the protesters.
A large number of activists of PkMAP participated in the protest. The protesters were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans. Addressing the protesters, the speakers said that according to the medical report, the death of Usman Kakar occurred due to torture. The bench ruled that the facts of the case need no reiteration as admittedly while passing the impugned order, the petitioners were not issued any notice for their appearance before the commission. APP/File
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court has set aside the 2019 orders of the Election Commission of Pakistan for changes to around a dozen provincial assembly constituencies in Mardan, Swabi and Khyber districts and directed the commission to decide the matter afresh.
