On-site registration and appointment has now been enabled for the 18-44 years age group on the CoWin platform for COVID-19 vaccination, the Union Health Ministry said on Monday. However, this feature is being enabled only for government COVID Vaccination Centers (CVCs) at present, it said.
This feature will not be available for private CVCs and they will have to publish their vaccination schedules exclusively with slots for online appointments.
This feature will be used only upon decision of respective states and UT governments.
States and UT must decide on opening of on-site registrations/facilitated cohorts registration and appointments for 18-44 years age group based on the local context just as an additional measure to minimize vaccine wastage and for facilitating vaccination of eligible beneficiaries in the age group of 18-44 years, the ministry said in its statement. ....

Covid-19 Vaccine Registration: On-Site Registration for 18-44 Group on CoWIN Opens for Govt CVCs

On-site registration for COVID-19 vaccination, in addition to the online appointments, has been enabled for the 18-44 years age group on the CoWIN registration portal for Government COVID Vaccination Centers (CVCs), the Centre said on Monday, 24 May.
So far, the facility of only online appointment was available for people in the age group of 18 to 44 years, which the Centre says “helped to avoid overcrowding at the vaccination centres.”
In a statement, the Health Ministry said that the decision was taken “based on the various representations given by the States and inputs received by Union Health Ministry.”
“This feature will not be available for Private CVCs presently, and the Private CVCs will have to publish their vaccination schedules exclusively with slots for online appointments,” the Ministry said. ....

India reports 3,62,727 lakh new Covid cases, 4,120 deaths in last 24 hours
India recorded 362,727 new Covid-19 infections and 4,120 deaths on Thursday, taking the caseload tally to 23,703,665, according to Health ministry website. With this, the total cases of COVID-19 in India have now mounted to 23,703,665.Â According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry, the country saw a total of 3,52,181 discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery to 1,97,34,823.
