Date Time Coles trucks to be used in national road safety campaign Coles and its supply chain partners have joined forces with the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) to help make Australia’s roads safer for all users. The We Need Space campaign is aimed at educating road users about how to share the road safely with heavy vehicles. Coles trailers carried by Linfox and Toll will become giant, travelling billboards in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, urging road users to stay out of truck blind spots, learn how to overtake trucks safely, and avoid overtaking turning trucks. The NHVR has produced a series of Community Service Announcements fronted by Supercars Champion Garth Tander and will be rolling out educational resources through driver education programs and its state and territory transport authority partners. ....
Date Time Coles shoppers raise vital funds for Aussie veterans at checkout In just five days leading up to Anzac Day, Coles team members and customers have raised $222,250 for veterans’ support agency, Bravery Trust, to help Australian service people struggling with injuries and illness. From April 21 to April 25, shoppers at more than 800 supermarkets across the nation supported Bravery Trust through the purchase of Coles Bakery cookies and biscuits, with 50 cents from every pack sold going directly to the not-for-profit organisation. Customers also made donations at Coles supermarket checkouts. The fundraising campaign came as new data from Bravery Trust showed COVID-19 has created significant challenges for veterans and their families, with the organisation receiving 10,000 calls for assistance since the start of the pandemic, and a 20 per cent surge in requests for assistance since pandemic financial support ended last month. ....

Coles Group is set to transform the way it replenishes stocks of fresh produce across its more than 850 supermarkets nationally with the help of a new cloud-based platform. The retailer said today it had struck a deal with Relex Solutions for the platform, which uses artificial intelligence algorithms to forecast demand based on a number of variables and to reduce waste, and automation to reduce manual effort. The Relex platform will be used across all supermarkets and the retailer’s seven fresh produce distribution centres. ....
Date Time Coles launches fundraising appeal in wake of cyclone Coles is providing much-needed support to cyclone-affected towns in the Mid-West, donating essential supplies to evacuees at the QEII Community Centre in Geraldton. Along with pallets of water, long life milk and food items, Coles is distributing 300 Coles care packages with essential supplies such as bottled water, bread, spreads, toiletries and snacks to residents in hardhit areas like Kalbarri and Geraldton. Coles will also launch a state-wide fundraising appeal to support the cyclone-affected residents at all supermarkets this week. From tomorrow, Coles customers will be able to help communities affected by Cyclone Seroja by making a donation to support the Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund at any Coles supermarket in Western Australia. ....
Date Time Perth motorists advised to top up to save money 13 April The average price of regular unleaded petrol (ULP) is set to increase by over 30 cents per litre (cpl) to 157 cpl tomorrow, so FuelWatch is encouraging Perth drivers, if they can, to fill up today to save money. FuelWatch advises that on Wednesday 14 April 2021, most branded retailers are hiking their ULP price: 7-Eleven and Coles Express hiking by 42-46 cpl to 169.9 cpl; Caltex/Ampol, Caltex Woolworths and BP to 167.9 cpl; Puma to 167.7 cpl; and Vibe to 159.9 cpl. Perth’s weekly petrol price cycle results in prices, on average, being cheapest on Monday and Tuesday and at their most expensive on Wednesday and Thursday – that’s why FuelWatch recommends filling up today. ....
