TALENT, Ore. – Today Governor Kate Brown visited the Mountain View Estates mobile home park in Talent, the park was destroyed in the Almeda Fire and is now one of the first locations to near the end of the clean-up process.
Local officials with agencies that are working in tandem to clean up fire debris and rebuild homes were at Mountain View Estates to give the Governor an update on where the rebuilding process stands today. ....

PHOENIX, Ore. It s been more than six months since the Almeda, South Obenchain, and Slater fires swept through Jackson, Josephine, and Siskiyou counties scorching thousands of acres and leaving thousands of people without their homes or businesses.

MEDFORD, Ore. When the Almeda Fire tore through Talent and Phoenix, it had an outsized impact on the mobile home communities along the I-5 corridor. Many of them were entirely leveled leaving families with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
One of those communities was Coleman Creek Estates. Just days after the fire, CPM Real Estate Services started a GoFundMe page for the displaced residents, putting in an initial contribution of $10,000. Since then, they say that the fund has grown to more than $25,000. ....

PHOENIX, Ore. The second phase of clean-up following the Almeda Fire is at last set to begin within the coming weeks, according to Jackson County officials.
Crews contracted by the federal EPA largely wrapped up efforts to remove hazardous waste from the burn areas in November. Though those crews removed roughly 300,000 pounds of waste from damaged Oregon properties, it only represents a small fraction of the debris left behind in the wake of those September fires. ....
