Friends and family remember Colby Cave

Cave died April 11, 2020 of a brain bleed at the age of 25.
The virtual ceremony was held at Rogers Place, participants from all over the world took part in it.
“He was one of the most incredible human beings I have ever met,” said Oilers player Patrick Russell. “There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t remember Colby, or feel his presence in the locker room.”
Instead of flowers, Cave’s family asked for donations to be made to the Colby Cave Memorial Fund. The fund helps cover the costs of community programs with an emphasis on mental health. ....

Colby Cave to be honoured with celebration of life at Rogers Place

A celebration of life will be held Saturday at Rogers Place in Edmonton to honour the life of Colby Cave, the former Edmonton Oilers forward who died suddenly last April.
The virtual ceremony hosted by Emily Cave, the Cave family, the Gill family and the Oilers organization is to begin at 11 a.m.
Emily Cave, Colby’s widow, is having a tough time believing her husband died nearly a year ago from a brain bleed at 25 years old.
“It feels like it was yesterday, but at the same time it feels like it was years ago,” she said in an interview with Gormley this week. ....

Late Oilers forward Colby Cave to be honoured by family, team in celebration of life

EDMONTON
Late Edmonton Oilers forward Colby Cave will be honoured in a special celebration of life, hosted by his family and the team at Rogers Place on April 10.
Cave died at the age of 25, after suffering a brain bleed, in April of last year.
It is hard to believe that it has been almost a year since I lost my best friend and husband. This past year, has been the most difficult year of my life but I thank everyone for your continued love, prayers, and support,” Colby Cave s widow, Emily Cave said in an Oilers news release.
“Since Colb passed, all I wanted as his wife was to give the ceremony he deserved. Although, this is never how I imagined my husband’s Celebration of Life, almost exactly a year later, and still with limited numbers, this will help bring people from all over together (virtually) to remember Colb that weekend. ....
