2020 has been a rollercoaster ride. It has impacted populations across the world and the world economies. What have been your key learnings?
The market follows the concept of discounting and that was on display in 2020 because in the first week of March when you just had a few hundred cases of Covid in India and the markets collapsed, they crashed almost as if markets knew that something negative is going to happen over the next few months. So the market was way ahead of the news. Now as things have picked up on the ground in the last one, one-and-a-half months, you might have heard about the positive news coming on the ground in terms of economy, power consumption, auto sales and with what is happening to the property market. All of these positives have only come into the system in the last one, one-and-a-half months but the market realised this four, four-and-a-half months back and that is probably the reason you have had this stellar rally in the last six months.
