Middle Tennessee s economy is snapping back so quickly that its biggest problem may be caused by its biggest triumph – unfettered growth.
Dozens of cranes fill the skyline and unemployment is quickly dropping from record pandemic highs as the commercial real-estate market booms, according to Colliers Index Nashville, a leading regional analysis of the overall economy s performance.
Tens of thousands of new jobs are on tap, fueled by the area s increasing popularity with large corporations and big-city transplants. The data shows that we survived the storm that was 2020 and the outlook remains incredibly bright for Nashville, said Janet Sterchi, partner at Colliers International. If the pandemic taught us anything it s that people have a choice where they want to live. And Nashville is on the winning end.

The Hendersonville property home to nonprofit The Memorial Foundation has sold for $15 million.
Gallatin-based real estate development and investment firm Southeastern Building Corp. is the new owner of the two-building, 5.8-acre property, according to a release. The foundation was the seller.

100 Bluegrass Commons Blvd., with the Sumner County YMCA located on an adjacent site.
Construction on the site was started in 2003 by the foundation, which remains a tenant. Called Bluegrass Commons, the two Class A office buildings offer a collective 91,240 square feet.
The Memorial Foundation, formed from the funds that HCA paid to acquire Nashville Memorial Hospital in Madison in 1994, awards grants to nonprofit organizations. It has contributed to, among other entities, the Adventure Science Center and the Nashville Public Library Foundation.
