Call for pedestrian crossing on Naas ring road Walkers There has been a call for a new pedestrian crossing in Naas. Green Party councillor Colm Kenny has asked for an uncontrolled or controlled crossing to be provided at the Rathasker Road intersection on the southern section of the road. Public bandstand call for Naas hits the right note Naas Municipal District Meeting A Naas politician has called for a bandstand for the town. Cllr Colm Kenny said that a public spaces scheme provides funding to adapt, equip or create public spaces for culture, arts and night time events. Kildare County Council says that it is currently examining a number of proposals and locations in respect of the scheme. However, under this funding stream criteria, only one “shovel ready” application from each local authority will be considered. KCC official Mairéad Hunt said that some €250,000 could be available for a project of this nature and it could have several different uses. ....

Flooding in Naas estate Kildare County Council says it will address flooding in a Naas housing area. Cllr Colm Kenny asked if the council could confirm plans to alleviate flooding at the road junctions within the Esmondale estate. He said the problem may be related to attenuation tanks. He was told at a Naas Municipal District meeting that KCC will seek to identify and address the flooding issue.
