Mozart the cat hit a sour note this weekend after climbing a tree in which he was stuck for hours, but is back in tune thanks to South Lyon firefighters. We received a real life miracle when Captain Cory Armstrong learned about our situation, rallied his troops and rescued our cat in the nearly freezing temperatures 40 feet in the air at 1 o’clock in the morning, Jennifer Music said. We knew without having front claws and him being exclusively an indoor cat, he had grave odds making it through the night. He was frozen in fear. The orange feline, roughly 10 years old, has lived a relatively calm indoor life since Jennifer and Dan Music rescued him from a barn during a polar vortex about 9 years ago. The couple adopted Mozart into a family that also includes Emily, 14, Henry, 10, and Grace, 8. Four years ago, the family added Indiana the dog, who appears to love the cat, an affection not returned. ....

MARIE Almost 40 Business Professionals of America students at the Sault Area Career Center Chapter put their skills to the test at a recent competition at the Regional Leadership Conference. Business Professionals of America is a youth organization which provides leadership and business opportunities for high school students to prepare them as they make decisions on their future careers. The skills that students learn through participating in a variety of business experiences that will help prepare them for a career in the workforce. They competed in many different events, ranging from accounting to graphic design to public speaking. Events are individual or teams with the participants learning many skills from each. Students who placed high enough are eligible to attend the Business Professionals of America State Leadership Conference taking place virtually in March. Mineral County Days promote tourism, Route 220 Mineral Daily News-Tribune For the News Tribune KEYSER - Mineral County Days was held as scheduled on Feb. 10-11 despite Mineral Countians being unable to travel to Charleston due to the pandemic. Seven meetings plus a celebratory ceremony for this year’s Mineral County honoree Michael Price were held virtually via Zoom. Mineral County participants met with representatives from seven departments and agencies, including Agriculture, Commerce, Tourism, Department of Health and Human Resources, Transportation, Arts, Culture, and History, and the Division of Natural Resources. There were two main priorities in this year’s meetings –Increasing tourism by expanding outdoor recreational opportunities, and a continued push for the North / South Corridor. ....
