Court House ramp will welcome people of all abilities
Getting in and out of a much-loved historical building will be easier when a ramp is installed at the Camperdown Court House.
The ramp will let people with all abilities use the community hub, visitor information centre and arts space.
Garden beds and paving on the corner of McNicol and Manifold streets will be reworked to include the ramp from McNicol Street with gardens on either side.
Mayor Ruth Gstrein said the court house was an iconic building right in the heart of Camperdown offering a visitor information hub. ....

State Government commits $6M to Port Campbell Town Centre Project
Corangamite Shire Council Mayor Ruth Gstrein has thanked the State Government for its $6m commitment to the Port Campbell Town Centre Revitalisation project.
Minister for Regional Development Mary-Anne Thomas announced the funding from the Regional Infrastructure Fund yesterday.
The project will enhance the amenity of the town, improve the visitor experience, encourage longer stays, and better disperse visitors through the town.
Benefits will include improved traffic flow and safety, greater recognition of the environmental and character value of the town, accessible paths and infrastructure, job creation, opportunities for new retail/hospitality businesses, better outdoor public spaces, retention and increase in visitor spend, improved liveability and community pride. ....

Funding flows for Port Campbell Town Centre Revitalisation
Port Campbell is set to be transformed, after a State Government investment of $6 million for Stage One of the Port Campbell Town Centre Revitalisation Project.
The project will provide a new amphitheatre along the foreshore, viewing platforms, picnic areas, major streetscape and road improvements, upgraded town entry from the Great Ocean Road and integrated artwork by Gunditjmara artist Dr Vicki Couzens.
The funding will also enable the Corangamite Shire Council to upgrade connections between the foreshore and the town centre and improve linkages between the 12 Apostles and Port Campbell National Park.

Community satisfaction up in almost all areas

Community satisfaction with Corangamite Shire Council’s overall performance is at a 10-year high.
The 2020-2021 Community Satisfaction Survey found Council’s performance was up across all core measures except customer service which equalled its usual high level.
Chief Executive Officer Andrew Mason said Corangamite had performed at a consistently high level for many years.
“Our overall performance score of 71 compares very favourably to the Statewide average of 61 and Large Rural Shires average of 58.”Customer service is one of our best performing core measure and something we are proud of,” Mr Mason said.
“We perform significantly higher than other similar councils in community decisions, consultation and engagement and informing the community. Elderly support services were again rated highly, which reflects our community’s continuing appreciation of the service. ....
