Three badly littered sites lead to Tipp's downfall in IBAL standings

A failure to tackle three litter blackspots in Tipp Town has left it languishing towards the bottom of the IBAL Litter League once again.
While the survey has upgraded Tipp Town from “littered” to “moderately littered”, those behind the final survey of 2020 says progress remains slow on larger problems in the town.
The IBAL report has found that many towns deemed “clean” in recent years are starting to slip, and notes a particular problem with coffee cups and PPE litter.

For a record fifth time, Kilkenny City has topped the rankings in the final litter survey of 2020 by business group Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL).
The Marble City finished ahead of Killarney, Ennis and Tullamore. Litter levels nationwide increased since the previous survey with fewer than half of the towns surveyed being deemed clean.

Portlaoise has again made it to the top five cleanest towns in Ireland.
In the first 2021 survey by Irish Businesses Against Litter (IBAL), the Laois county town is in fifth position.
Laois is top of the Clean to European Norms list. It is a slight drop from fourth cleanest last Autumn.
Laois County Council CEO John Mulholland praised Portlaoise today at the January council meeting on the result.
Congratulations to Portlaoise Tidy Towns, Downtown Portlaoise and our roads staff. Laois has established itself as having one of the cleanest towns in Ireland, consolidating our position today, he said. ....

Limerick has missed out on a clean status in the latest survey by Irish Business Against Litter.
The final litter survey of 2020 by IBAL shows Limerick City coming in 18th place in the ranking of 37 towns and cities.
Galvone, once named the dirtiest spot in the country, has improved but is ‘littered’ in 35th place.
Conor Horgan of IBAL says however that it s not all bad news for Limerick..
