New Delhi: Back to the wall, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday announced extension of the ongoing lockdown in Delhi for another week, saying the severity of COVID-19 persists and the positivity rate has been as high as 36 per cent in the last few days.

Vijayawada, Apr 23: All India Newspaper Employees Federation (AINEF) vice-president Chaladi Purnachandra Rao has claimed that 13 journalists have lost their lives due to Coronavirus while discharging their duties in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states during the last seven days.
Mr.Purnachandra Rao said in a statement here on Saturday that 13 Journalists had lost their lives during the past week due to Covid -19 in Andhra Pradesh and Telengana States and appealed to the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana state governments to extend financial help to the bereaved families.

Kerala reports 19,577 fresh covid cases, 3,880 recoveries

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 20: Covid-19 was detected in 19,577 persons in Kerala on Tuesday while 3,880 patients have recovered from the disease, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. In the last 24 hours, Covid was not detected in any person who recently came to Kerala from the UK taking the total to 116, and their samples have been sent to NIV, Pune for further testing. So far, 11 people who came from the UK were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus, the Minister said in a press release here this evening.
Meanwhile, 28 recent deaths were confirmed today as due to Covid taking the death toll in the state to 4,978.
