Next First Friday Seminole set
SEMINOLE — The next First Friday Seminole will be presented Friday, Aug. 6, 6 to 9 p.m., on the main street in front of Studio Movie Grill at Seminole City Center, 11201 Park Blvd. N., Seminole.
Presented by Seminole City Center and the Rotary Club of Seminole Lake, event organizers will turn back the hands of time for a “Flower Power Happy Hour.” Each First Friday features the area’s best entertainment, complemented by a myriad of merchants, food and drink vendors, prize giveaways, and much more. Performing Aug. 6 will be Yesterdayze, a high-energy ’60s show band specializing in recreating everyone’s favorite songs from that magical decade. The band plays Top 40 hits from musical artists such as The Beatles, The Monkees, The Animals, The Temptations, The Supremes, CCR, The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, The Rolling Stones and many more. ....

Pasadena-based interior designer Kirsten Blazek took a 50s ranch house and infused it with modern, Southwest style.
Other house-hunters saw a nondescript Ranch house with dated interiors. Interior designer Kirsten Blazek saw an opportunity to create her very own oasis of California cool.

Syd Entel Galleries to present works of Helen Zarin
SAFETY HARBOR — Internationally known artist Helen Zarin will be the focus of a new show running April 10 through May 29 at Syd Entel Galleries and Susan Benjamin Glass Etc., 247 Main St., Safety Harbor.
Dubbed “A Creative Journey of Old, New and Things to Come,” the show will get underway with an opening reception set for Saturday, April 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Zarin’s creative journey has progressed for over 30 years. Her body of work includes mixed media, oil, pastel and collage. Her subject matter incredibly diverse includes figures, faces, landscapes and flowers. These impressionistic abstract creations show off her huge creative talent. ....

Sarah Livings has joined Nashville-based commercial and residential architecture firm Studio 8 Design.
Livings (pictured) holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Auburn University, where she was active in design-build programs including the Rural Studio Program and the 100Fold Summer Studio in Montana. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects.
“Sarah brings a design foundation, passion and some hands-on construction experience and we’re thrilled she has joined our team,” said Matt Taylor, Studio 8 Design founder.
Founded in 2005, the Studio 8 Design office is located in downtown’s Rutledge Hill district. The firm’s portfolio includes tenant buildout and improvement, ground-up commercial, adaptive reuse and custom residential architecture and design projects throughout Middle Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida and Texas. ....
