West, who was named to her new position last month, started at the BBCW as an intern in 1994. Most recently, she served as curator of Plains Indian Cultures and the Plains Indian Museum, as well as the Collier-Read director of Curatorial, Education, and Museum Services. West discussed the various jobs she’s had at the BBCW during the last 27 years – including coordinating the annual Plains Indian Museum Powwow for more than 15 years – and her goals for the center. ....

Cory Fields, the manager at Hertz Rent-A-Car at Yellowstone Regional Airport, says travelers are already booked for a difficult time in Summer 2021. ....

Summer has officially come to Wyoming. With Yellowstone’s East Gate open for business, tourists are flocking into Cody looking for additions to their western vacations. Meanwhile, preparations have already begun for one of Cody’s busiest weekends – the 4 th of July. The Cody Stampede Rodeo is all set to go, with Xtreme Bulls scheduled for Wednesday, June 30, and tickets available for the special events on July 1 – 4. According to the Powell, Tribune, the Park County Commissioners unanimously voted to transfer the UXU Ranch’s liquor license to UXU 1929, a limited liability company that now owns and operates the historic property. The founders of UXU 1929 are John “J.L. Grief” Hoskin of Yuma, Arizona, and Rick and Patrice Holloway of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. They will soon be taking up residence on the 34-acre property within Shoshone National Forest. Hoskin is an award-winning Western photographer and Canadian native. He will be operating the ranch during its busy season – April to November. ....
