Hundreds Benefit From Park County Pop Up Food Pantry Written by Andrew-Rossi on March 9, 2021 Cars were lined up for hours before the pantry opened, and Park County officials and volunteers ensure everyone who showed up went home with some food security. After examining several areas in Wyoming, the Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies determined Cody and Park County were areas most in need of additional food at this time. Other food pantries are being held in Casper, Gillette, and Laramie this March. Word of the one-day pantry got out and the community responded. “We had cars lining up as early as 7:45 a.m. this morning,” says Jack Tatum, director of the Park County Office of Homeland Security. The pantry didn’t officially open until 11 a.m. ....
Written by Andrew-Rossi on February 24, 2021 After seven months of a vital and valued service, Cody Regional Health feels the current COVID-19 situation merits a safe stop to testing at the Rodeo Grounds. Cody Regional Health announced the closure of drive-thru testing at the Cody Stampede Rodeo Grounds on Wednesday. Starting next week, there will be no testing offered Tuesday and Thursday mornings at the Rodeo Grounds. Keith Ungrund, Chief Clinical Officer at Cody Regional Health, says the drop in local COVID-19 cases is the determining factor in the decision to close the drive-thru. “We are thankful we were able to offer our community drive-thru testing for over 7 months to provide an option to those in need of this service. Now that numbers have dropped significantly over the past month and with other options available to those in our area, our team believes it is safe to discontinue this service,” Ungrund says. ....
Cody residents are no longer “stampeding” to the Rodeo Grounds for COVID tests, so Cody Regional is cutting an hour of testing that isn’t needed anymore. ....
