“This rep was shocked when he walked into the CTS AVL warehouse and saw the size of our stage,” said Hoagland. “He complimented us on creating an ‘Awards Show level production’ out of a temporary space. It made us all feel great, because having done the CRS Conference before as a live event, we were determined to maintain the same level of excellence in a virtual setting.” ....

Bandit Brings the Lights to NorthField Church Night to Shine ‘Shine-Thru’
USA – The Tim Tebow Foundation held its seventh annual Night to Shine event on 12 February, celebrating people with special needs over the age of 14. Bandit Lites donated lighting to the NorthField Church gathering. The evening normally features a gala, complete with a mirror ball and swaths of lighting, but due to Covid-19, volunteers made the evening as festive as possible while pivoting to a shine-thru celebration.
“I speak for every Bandit in saying are humbled to be a part of Night to Shine and to know we played a part in the smiles on the faces of these kids and their families,” said Bandit Lites vice president Mike Golden. “Every job we do is important, but very few are as special as this one is. It is an honor to be a part of this event and our thanks go out to the entire Night to Shine operation for their efforts in truly making this a night to shine.” ....

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE – Michael T. Strickland, Bandit Lites Chair and founder, was recently awarded the NAMM Believe in Music Award, an honor bestowed to individuals and businesses who have made a lasting and positive impact on both the NAMM Oral History Collection and the global music products industry. Strickland received the award for his continued efforts to Congress on behalf of the Live Music Industry.
Strickland has worked to mobilize the industry into action, informing people of the minutia of federal aid, breaking down applications and forms that entire companies and individuals hinged their survival on, and on raising awareness to the public with appearances on MSNBC and WGN America to keep the focus on our vital industry. He then testified before the United States Senate Subcommittee on Manufacturing, Trade, and Consumer Protection on December 15 about the effect of COVID-19 on the Live Event Industry, leading to the passage of the C ....

Chris Lisle lights Inauguration ‘Field of Flags’ on National Mall with Elation
USA – Close to 200,000 flags on the National Mall in Washington D.C. were lit by lighting designer Chris Lisle during the recent Presidential Inauguration, many using LED luminaires from Elation Professional. Field of Flags, an art display representing the people who were unable to attend the event due to the coronavirus pandemic, made for a spectacular sight and powerful message of unity.
“It was an honour to be able to kick off this new administration by working on such a notable event,” stated Lisle, who was contacted by Austin-based production company C3 Presents in early December about lighting the project. With Christmas on the doorstep though, he didn’t have a lot of time to work with. “Sitting outside for seven to eight days, we needed something rain and snow friendly,” he said, referring to fixture choice. “I knew I wanted to use the Elation Paladin and SixPar 100 IP ....
