Woodmead Residential Home in Portway, Warminster MORE than 30 people in Warminster have objected to plans for plans by McCarthy & Stone to build new residential retirement apartments. The national company wants to locate 45 one and two-bedroomed apartments at the vacant Woodmead Residential Home in Portway, Warminster, together with communal facilities and parking for 32 vehicles. Nearby residents have complained to Wiltshire Council about the potential loss of on-street parking. They have objected to the council s plans to remove 43 metres each way of the on-street parking. Cllr Rob Fryer, of Warminster Town Council, said they do not believe this is a necessary adjustment to the existing highway.
