Rotary Club of New Canaan Rotarians Leo Karl, Ann Cheney, Jane Fox and Rob Fryer are previously at the Waveny Pool distribution point for curbside pick up in the town’s Waveny Park of the club s LobsterFest 2020, which was held in October 2020. The club is currently accepting grant applications until March 31, 2021. The members of the Rotary Club of New Canaan have opened the club’s annual grant application process. Applications are being accepted through March 31, 2021 from registered 501 c (3) nonprofit organizations in the town and neighboring areas for grants in health and wellness or education and literacy only.

While COVID-19 circumstances have forced organizations to meet remotely on the Zoom application, it has enabled group’s like the Rotary Club of New Canaan to invite speakers from far away.
The club’s Zoom Christmas party included a previous Rotary International Scholar, Yuri Nakashima, from her home in Japan. This past week’s luncheon speaker was New Canaan native John Gnuse, son of Rotarian Jeanne Gnuse, and her late husband, Tom. Gnuse spoke to the club from San Francisco, where he is managing director at Lazard, on the topic of “The Machine Learning Revolution.”
