Brindisi sent a letter to Lamica and the village board in late March stating that his client had not yet been given a chance to see or respond to the complaint and calling for a retraction of any and all defamatory statements against him. The letter warned of the possibility of legal action against the village.
Brindisi’s letter also included a request under the Freedom of Information Law for copies of any complaints against Conover, investigations into the complaint or complaints and copies of any policies and procedures he is alleged to have violated, as well as copies of any written notifications informing Conover he is the potential subject of disciplinary action as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement. The Little Falls Common Council is looking to change the city treasurer’s position from an elected post to an appointed one. The police, chief, the fire chief and the assessor are all appointed,” Mayor Mark Blask pointed out when asked the reason for the proposed change. “For the treasurer to be an elected position doesn’t make sense. We have a $6 million budget; that’s a huge responsibility.”
The Common Council will have to pass a local law amending the city charter in order for the change to take effect, the mayor said. The position was scheduled to be on the ballot for the November election.

ILION, N.Y. - The Village of Ilion entered into a shared services agreement with the city of Little Falls. The agreement would mean Little Falls Fire Chief Rob Parese would serve temporarily as Ilion s Fire Chief, 2 times a week. The agreement also means that Ilion s treasurer will help out the Little Falls Treasurer.
Early in the meeting before the vote, the Village Board went into an executive session which was closed to the public to discuss a personnel matter.

Little Falls Fire Chief Rob Parese will be assisting the Ilion Fire Department on a part-time basis while the Ilion department is without a chief and another of its members due to an investigation.
The arrangement, which the Little Falls Common Council approved during a meeting Tuesday, calls for Parese to devote eight hours each week to the Ilion department.
“This is a shared services agreement with the village of Ilion,” said Little Falls Mayor Mark Blask. “This will have no effect on safety for our residents. He’ll go there certain days, usually Tuesdays and Thursdays for about three or four hours. This will be at most for about three months.”
